El próximo sábado 8 de noviembre, a la medianoche, el escenario de Lucille Bar (Gorriti 5520, CABA) se transformará en un templo del blues y el soul con dos propuestas que comparten espíritu, raíces y pasión: primero, Dallas Ponce Blues Band presentará su nuevo trabajo “Back To The Roots”, y luego será el turno de Dallas Ponce & The Salmonettes, un viaje sonoro que recorre la música afro-americana con sello propio.
El show, con entrada al sobre y reservas por WhatsApp (+54 9 11 5748-1698), promete una velada íntima y vibrante, ideal para los amantes del blues, el gospel y el soul interpretado con autenticidad y maestría.
Vuelta a las raíces: Dallas Ponce Blues Band
Con Viviana Dallas en voz, Marcelo Ponce en guitarra y voz, Sebastián Casaccio en contrabajo y Martín Acuevide en batería y percusión, regresan al circuito porteño con una propuesta que, como su título indica, vuelve a los orígenes.
Su nuevo disco, “Back To The Roots”, es una exploración de las raíces del blues que también revive la historia del dúo Dallas Ponce, evocando aquella etapa de los años ’90 en la que se presentaban bajo el nombre Uvas Amargas. En esta oportunidad, además, repasarán temas de su anterior trabajo “100 Años de Blues Grabado”, en una noche que combinará la emoción del reencuentro con la solidez de una trayectoria que cruzó fronteras.
El dúo, formado por Viviana Dallas y Marcelo Ponce, cuenta con un extenso recorrido nacional e internacional. En 2024 participaron en el legendario “Bentonia Blues Festival”, en Mississippi, Estados Unidos —el festival de blues más antiguo del país—, donde compartieron escenario con la leyenda viva Jimmy “Duck” Holmes. Ese mismo año fueron parte del “Arkansas Country Blues & String Band Festival” y realizaron conciertos y workshops en la Radio Pública de Arkansas y en diversos organismos culturales del sur estadounidense.
Su música ha sonado en escenarios emblemáticos de Estados Unidos, la cuna del blues, y también en festivales de América Latina como “Blues al Río” (Guayaquil) y “Quito Blues” (Ecuador), donde fueron invitados en varias ediciones.
Con varios discos editados bajo el sello EPSA Music Argentina, Dallas Ponce se ha consolidado como uno de los proyectos más coherentes y respetados dentro del circuito local de blues y gospel. Su labor trasciende el escenario: desde 1998, dirigen coros y agrupaciones vocales de música gospel, difundiendo y enseñando la tradición afro-americana con un profundo compromiso artístico y pedagógico.
Han compartido escenario con figuras nacionales como Cristina Dall, Miguel Botafogo y Hugo González Neira, e internacionales como Gregory Hopkins (director de coros de la Convent Avenue Baptist Church de Nueva York), Zakiya Hooker (hija del legendario John Lee Hooker), Stefan Grossman, Drink Small y James Cotton, entre otros.

Después del potente set de blues, la noche seguirá con la presentación de Dallas Ponce & The Salmonettes, una formación que amplía el espectro sonoro del dúo hacia el soul, el gospel, el blues y el rhythm & blues, en una celebración de las raíces afro-americanas.
El proyecto está integrado por Viviana Dallas (voz), Marcelo Ponce (guitarra y voz), Paloma Scassano (voz), Camila Teodori (voz), Sebastián Casaccio (contrabajo) y Martín Acuevide (batería y percusión). Juntos, recrean la potencia vocal y la calidez del sonido clásico de los años ’50 y ’60, versionando artistas como The Staple Singers, Bob Dylan, The Beatles y Elvis Presley, entre otros referentes.
El grupo ya cuenta con un álbum editado, “Do It Again” (EPSA Music), homenaje a The Staple Singers, aquella mítica familia que marcó la historia del soul y el gospel estadounidense. Actualmente, Dallas Ponce & The Salmonettes presentan su nuevo simple “King Sessions”, acompañado de dos videoclips que documentan el proceso de grabación y refuerzan la conexión del proyecto con la historia viva de la música afro-americana.
Al igual que en Dallas Ponce Blues Band, la dirección y los arreglos musicales están a cargo del Lic. Marcelo Ponce y la Lic. Viviana Dallas, quienes en 2025 celebran 33 años difundiendo y enseñando música afro-americana en Argentina y el exterior, y 27 años dirigiendo coros gospel.
