El concierto que el guitarrista Al Di Meola iba a ofrecer el próximo viernes 13 de octubre en Argentina, y que luego había sido reprogramado sin fecha confirmada para 2024, fue cancelado definitivamente debido al ataque cardíaco sufrido por el artista el pasado 27 de septiembre en Rumania, confirmó la producción local.
El escueto comunicado informa que quienes habían adquirido tickets para el show que el músico preveía protagonizar en el porteño Teatro Broadway podrán hacer su devolución por la misma vía por la que los habían comprado.
El virtuoso guitarrista estadounidense había emprendido una gira mundial titulada «The Electric Years» en la que abordaba material fundamentalmente de sus primeros años de trayectoria en «Return to Forever», la célebre agrupación comandada por Chick Corea.
Sin embargo, el miércoles 27 de septiembre sufrió una descompensación mientras realizaba un concierto en Bucarest.
Horas después, el músico publicó un escrito en sus redes sociales en la que explicó lo sucedido y prometía retomar los conciertos en 2024.
«Desafortunadamente, me enfrento a una situación médica que requiere un tiempo libre de mis actuaciones y giras. Quiero asegurarles que estoy recibiendo la mejor atención posible y que estoy totalmente comprometido a lograr una recuperación completa», decía el texto.
«Planeo regresar en 2024, con muchas ganas de volver a hacer música juntos. La música siempre ha sido una fuente de curación y fortaleza para mí, y no puedo esperar a volver al escenario, compartiendo mi música con todos ustedes», añadía a modo de conclusión.
