Vane Vanelli llega puntual a la entrevista. Entra con la seguridad de quien respeta su oficio y la calidez de quien ama lo que hace. Profesional, amable, precisa, trae en la mirada la mezcla justa entre intensidad y serenidad. Se sienta, se acomoda, respira hondo y la conversación empieza a fluir. Nada en ella es improvisado: cada gesto, cada palabra y cada silencio tienen un sentido. Esa coherencia es la misma que aparece en “Mariposas en el viento”, su nueva canción, un bolero-pop profundo, luminoso y honesto que funciona como una radiografía emocional de su mirada sobre la vida.
La historia del tema empieza cuando Vane tomó una decisión largamente postergada: empezar a escribir sus propias letras. Después de muchos años como intérprete, pasando por bandas, proyectos, escenarios y estilos diversos, sintió que era el momento de que su voz dijera algo propio. En 2021 comenzó a trabajar con la productora Tres Música, junto a Luis Burgio y Nano Novello. Con ellos construyó varias ideas en paralelo, pero hubo un punto donde una sola canción reclamó el centro de la escena: Mariposas en el viento.
—¿Cómo nació la canción, qué expectativas tenías?
—Empecé a escribir canciones propias. Siempre canté, soy intérprete, pasé por bandas muy variadas. En 2021 decidí escribir mis propias letras y me junté con los chicos de Tres Música. Trabajábamos varias ideas a la vez hasta que el foco se puso acá. Yo venía de hacer muchas versiones de rock nacional, pero quería ir por otro lado. Mariposas es un bolero con cosas tradicionales y cosas más modernas, unos sintetizadores, un aire pop. Y quería que tuviera un chanteíto, esa especie de rapeo intermedio que no es rap, ahí participó Rafa Ortega.
Lo que detonó la letra fue un momento vital que ella define como universal: esas noticias que te quiebran, que te dejan sin piso y obligan a reorganizarse aun cuando uno no tiene todas las herramientas. Para Vane, la canción tenía que ser profunda, pero sin solemnidad, con una especie de luz que permitiera respirar.
Habla del desconcierto, de la vulnerabilidad y, también, con ironía amorosa, de ese gesto tan humano de intentar “arreglarle la vida” a quien queremos. Esa escena aparece en la estrofa final, donde menciona terapias y soluciones como una forma amable de mostrar que, a veces, lo único necesario es acompañar.
—¿Primero escribiste la letra y después llegó lo musical?
—Sí, primero fue la letra. Después apareció la melodía, aunque no sabíamos bien hacia dónde iba. Con el tiempo se encaminó hacia este bolero con sus aires pop. A mí me encanta mezclar cosas, romper un poco. No es lo más habitual, y por eso mismo me gustaba. Prefiero arriesgar.
—En tiempos donde las letras suelen perder profundidad, vos fuiste para otro lado…
—Sí, para mí es importante decir algo. Está buenísimo bailar temas más banales para salir a la noche, yo también lo hago. Pero cuando yo escribo, necesito que sea profundo, con mensaje. Me gusta comunicar. Incluso cuando elijo repertorio ajeno soy cuidadosa: respeto lo que quiso decir quién lo escribió y busco meterme en ese personaje.
El lanzamiento trajo una repercusión íntima, poderosa. Vane recibió mensajes de personas que estaban atravesando momentos muy difíciles y encontraron en la canción un refugio. Para ella, ese gesto vale más que cualquier reconocimiento técnico o estético.
—¿Qué devoluciones te llegaron?
—Preciosas. Mucho amor. Hay gente que la escucha todos los días porque está pasando momentos duros. Cuando alguien se apropia de mi canción y la hace suya, ahí para mí ya está. Se cumplió el propósito.
El tema también la conecta con una mirada crítica sobre el vértigo social, la sobreinformación, la falta de silencios y el exitismo permanente. Vane trabaja el silencio como herramienta: en sus conciertos baja el tempo, obliga al público a detenerse y respira antes de retomar. Allí, dice, aparece la emoción.
Café Berlín —uno de los escenarios que más la representan— fue el lugar donde recientemente volvió a experimentar esa conexión. Entre canciones de rock nacional, se animó por primera vez a cantar un bolero clásico: La nave del olvido, de José José, en una versión inspirada en Mon Laferte.
—¿Cómo elegís el repertorio para el vivo?
—Soy muy atenta a lo que digo. Me gustan las historias. El otro día en Café Berlín canté La nave del olvido porque amo su dramatismo. Selecciono por la letra, por la historia, por el clima. Me gusta generar un lindo concierto, esa comunión con la gente. Disfruto mucho tocar en vivo.
Su próximo show será el 24 de enero en Madrid, en “Peor para el Sol”, junto al pianista Franco Callaci y compartiendo fecha con el artista español Germán Alonso.
Pero antes del escenario está la voz, su instrumento central, su identidad. Hace más de veinte años entrena con Mariana Grisiglione, la misma profesora que la acompañó desde los veinte años y que cuidó su voz incluso en épocas donde hacía once shows por fin de semana en eventos.
—¿Cómo construiste tu voz? ¿Qué aprendiste de tus docentes?
—Muchísimo. Entreno hace más de veinte años con Mariana Grisiglione. Gracias a ella nunca tuve problemas graves en la voz. Soy muy disciplinada: vocalizo siempre, me cuido, antes de un concierto no salgo, no como cualquier cosa. Y para los arreglos y la interpretación trabajé con Dorita Chávez, una genia total. Tiene una humildad tremenda y entiende todo. Yo sabía lo que quería y ella me ayudó a potenciarlo.
El trabajo en equipo es un valor central para Vane. Lo aprendió en sus comienzos, cuando integraba bandas como Contraste y, sobre todo, OYK – Open Your Kantos, donde compartía escenario con chicos que rapeaban mientras ella cantaba. Allí profesionalizaba cada detalle: eran jóvenes, pero se tomaban el trabajo con una seriedad férrea. Tocó en Obras, en Cemento, en recitales multitudinarios y también en eventos privados que le dieron un entrenamiento enorme: repertorios múltiples, estilos cambiantes, animar gente que no fue a verla a ella sino a bailar. Todo eso la formó.
Con sus músicos actuales mantiene un vínculo de familia: el director musical y guitarrista Ernesto Salgueiro (histórico de Nito Mestre), Andrés Pérez Alarcón, Pablo Álvarez Vilariño, Juan Cordima y otros nombres que la acompañan hace más de veinte años. Con ellos comparte vida, rutas, giras, aprendizajes y silencios.
Ese espíritu de camaradería también estuvo en la filmación del videoclip de Mariposas en el viento. Vane fue productora junto a Sebastián Casabe y el rodaje tuvo dos locaciones, bajo la tormenta de Santa Rosa, con su familia y amigos colaborando en maquillaje, peinado, catering y soporte. El director de fotografía fue Diego Poleri —referente de series como Viudas Negras y trabajos con Natalie Pérez— cuya humildad y nivel técnico fueron clave.
—¿Dónde sentís tu mayor fortaleza vocal?
—En la interpretación. Creo que puedo transmitir lo que siento. La gente se emociona y para mí no hay halago más grande. Y sí, también la versatilidad. Haber pasado por tantos géneros y etapas me permite jugar sin miedo.
Además de cantante, Vane es psicóloga. Estudió en la UBA, hizo un posgrado en clínica psicoanalítica de adultos y atiende pacientes, aunque ya no con la intensidad de antes. También da un taller de canto para jubilados y adultos mayores, donde mezcla música y psicología: un espacio que define como “hermoso” y que conecta dos mundos que parecían ajenos, pero que en su vida conviven naturalmente.
—Si tu nombre estuviera en el diccionario, ¿qué diría?
—Cantante del alma.
La frase es exacta. Vane Vanelli canta desde un lugar sincero, emocional, profundo. Desde ese sitio donde la vida duele, pero también enseña. Donde las mariposas vuelan incluso cuando sopla el viento. Mariposas en el viento es apenas un capítulo de una etapa que ya se siente sólida, verdadera y luminosa. Y como ella misma dice, es “de acá en adelante”.
